Background
CEACAM2is a member of the family of carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesionmolecules. CEACAM2 controls energy balance and peripheral insulin action. It isinvolved in the regulation of feeding behavior particularly in the ventromedialnucleus of hypothalamus (VMH) regulation of food intake. Alternatively splicedtranscripts encoding different proteins have been described.
