Background
HSD17B14, also known as 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 14, belongs to the 17-beta-HSD family of proteins, which regulate the availability of steroids within various tissues rough out the body. It exists as a homotetramer that localizes to the cytoplasm and is highly expressed in brain, placenta, liver and kidney. Recombinant human HSD17B14 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.
