Integrin alpha L/CD11a Antibody (YTH81.5) Summary
Made to Human CD11a
Membrane; single pass type I membrane protein.
NB100-63353 recognises CD11a, a 180kD glycoprotein expressed by all human leukocytes, also known as the integrin alpha L subunit. CD11a is involved in cell-cell adhesion processes and binds to CD50, CD54 and CD102.

Background
CD11a is a member of the integrin family of cell adhesion molecules. It is a glycoprotein expressed in combination with the CD18 beta chain. The complex is a member of the beta 2 integrin family. These molecules function in cell adhesion and specifically bind to CD54, ICAM2, ICAM3. CD11a is expressed on thymocytes, T and B lymphocytes, granulocytes, monocytes, and macrophages. This antibody blocks CD11a functions. CD11a is expressed on human leucocytes, with greater expression on memory T cells.
