This 13A antibody is offered in 2 formats:ug size: has been tested intracellular staining of cultured mouse splenocytes. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.25 ug per test. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. test size: has been pre-titrated and tested intracellular staining of cultured mouse splenocytes. This can be used at test size: 5 uL (0.125 ug)/per test The pre-titrated test size contains BSA and/or gelatin for protein stabilization.

Background
The 13A antibody reacts with mouse IL-13. IL-13 is a cytokine produced mainly by Th2 cells, but also by antigen-primed CD8 T cells. IL-13 has a strong involvement in allergic inflammation and parasitic clearing and in cancer models has been shown to have either inhibitory or stimulatory activity depending on the tumor. In humans, IL-13 is found to play a role in isotype switching in B cells. IL-13 is implicating in down modulating macrophage activity, through the reduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12)
